It's no secret that being a photographer is a constant learning process. Especially nowadays with social media, the internet and different types of platforms, we find a constant way to innovate to stand out in the market.
Last year was a pivotal moment for me, where I found myself looking to innovate, step out of my comfort zone and make an investment in my running. It was then that I took a big step, applied to participate in Colorpop and prepared myself for that moment.
While you feel ready to participate in a big event like this, it's also normal to feel Imposter Syndrome, to think that everyone is better than you. Believe me, participating in Colorpop was one of the best professional and personal decisions I've made in recent years.
I had the opportunity to meet women photographers from different parts of the USA, people who supported me, encouraged me like I had never seen before. I was in contact with creative minds, with possibilities of work that we often do not limit ourselves to doing.
If you have the chance to participate in Colorpop, please be sure to do so. After I left my comfort zone, after I photographed unique editorials that simply transformed my portfolio, I reached giant numbers on Instagram, closing deals with brands, I've never had so many new clients...
Do what you've always dreamed of, don't let opportunities pass you by because you think the time is not right. Often that moment of uncertainty will change your life.
